Haha, yes! Same here! For the longest time B was telling me I needed to read the book because he knew I’d like it. It’s just the type of thing I do love to read and get really into. Reminded me of The Giver in a lot of ways (which is one of my absolute favorite books of all time). After we got home from the movie I was like “So, have you heard anything about the other two books being made into movies??” B just laughed at me. I’m not gunna plow through the second book as fast, but I just started yesterday in the limited down time I had and I’m on on chapter 4 already hahah.

Speaking of the movie. The first 1/4 was totally ruined by this mother explaining every god damn detail of the book to her kid. Like, she wasn’t even trying to hide the fact that she was being obnoxiously loud. Every 2 minutes (LITERALLY) we would just hear “In the book… blahblahblahblah.” B and I ended up scooting across the row we were in to get away from her and actually be able to hear the movie instead of her annoying voice right in our ears!

Couldn’t resist. I just died a little.

Might actually start to incorporate this! Actually seems doable, haha. I’m not one to go to the gym, I never really have been. I’d much rather watch what I eat and go for walks and do some fitness DVD’s at home.

I am DYING to go shopping. I have such little extra money with all the bills and whatnot, and it’s like any extra money I do have I end up using for like makeup or other random little things that you don’t think about needing to buy. I’m forcing myself to work an extra 5ish hours of overtime next week just to get an extra hundred bucks. Ugh.

My birthday is coming up, though, & I told my parents that I just want to go shopping. I want to get some cute cotton summer dresses to just throw on when I don’t feel like wearing jeans or shorts. I’d like to get some new flats, and maybe a few new shirts. I could use all new tanktops, too, because all the ones I did own were from 35 pounds ago and are now massive on me.

With all this hype about The Hunger Games, I feel like I should read the book. That said, it’s being read by middle schoolers. That said, I lose a little bit of interest in even wanting to read it due to the fact that it’s easily read by 11 year olds. That said, I’ve been told it’s wonderful. B has read it & loved it. So now I have a stupid fanboy I’m living with just about shitting himself waiting for the movie to come out, and I’m going to go with him to see it and probably wish I had read the book beforehand. The thing is, he read it all on an e-reader on his iPod and I HATE reading books on electronic things. I don’t think I could ever do that. I would much rather buy a physical book and have it in my hands, but I honestly don’t have and don’t want to spend the money on the book.

I’m a crotchety old woman.

OH MY GOD. SO FLUFFAYYY.

I am so torn on getting a pure bred dog from a breeder (like this cute lil toller) vs. a shelter dog as a second dog. I have had both in my life, and I like the idea of getting the specific breed I’m interested in, but I also know how wonderful shelter dogs can be and giving one a loving permanent home is such a good feeling. Before Ellie, I had a beagle mix that we got from some lady who didn’t want the puppies and was giving them away (pretty sure she must have been mixed with pit, she had some brindle, and those pit-like feet, and more the size of a pit, with a beagle-shaped face). But oh my god. I loved her so much. I actually named her after the Husky Jenna in the movie Balto, because I loved Huskies so very much. She was the sweetest girl ever. Probably won’t be getting another dog for at least another year or two at the earliest, but if I’m thinking of going with a breeder I should at least start looking around now. I’m sure I’ll end up with a shelter dog at some point, I just don’t know when. I suppose you never really know. When you see the right dog, you just have to have it, regardless of your plans.

(And yes, I know, there are specific breed rescue programs I can go through for most breeds, so don’t bombard me with messages saying that.)

But not quite unpacked. This last week was killer for me. I got about 8 hours of overtime which I expected, while trying to move into an apartment and unpack. Just got Ellie here last night, so I’ve been a little MIA from the internet world. More shopping and unpacking to do today!
